Position: Application Engineer Manager (HVAC/R)
Leads applications engineering team as they assist and support sales representatives and customers with the design and application of HVAC equipment by leading the team to perform the following duties.
We are looking for a high-quality individual to fill this position at our Eden Prairie, MN location.
Directly supervises 8 to 10 employees in the Applications Engineering Department.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Respond to inquiries from our sales representatives in the pursuit of new specifications and orders.
Generate selections, drawings and other technical information to support the sales representative in pursuing business.
Determine feasibility and cost of performing special modifications to our equipment to satisfy customer requirements, and provide special price quotes to our field sales representatives.
Gather competitive intelligence and industry information on an ongoing basis and disseminate to the appropriate parties within Mammoth.
Provide guidance to department order processing personnel for generation of submittal documents for approval by the appropriate authority in the field.
Make revisions to submittal text document and drawings as necessary to reflect changes in project requirements.
Review and respond to any mark-ups received on the submittal documents.
Determine revised pricing, if necessary, due to changes resulting from submittal revisions.
Provide guidance to department order processing personnel for generation of order write up document for distribution to BOM Engineering and Manufacturing.
Review pricing as needed to support order processing personnel.
Provide guidance to mechanical and electrical designers in generation of shop documents.
Contact sales Representatives as required to obtain necessary information and approvals.
Assist order personnel in generation of documentation for field supplied parts to be mounted at our factory.
Assist order personnel in reconciling all financial data on each other, including list pricing, multiplier, freight, commission, outside items; with the customer purchase order.

4 year engineering degree (mechanical preferred) equivalent industry work experience, and strong mechanical aptitude.
Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and operating system software.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD software a plus.
5 years of HVAC Applications/Customer Service Experience, 10 years preferred.
