Our client, a major futures exchange is looking for an Application Support Analyst . The candidate will have a critical focus on the technical testing of multiple mission-critical applications, as well as creating automation tools to be used in testing and production. You will also be responsible for managing software changes and releases, implementation, production support and configuration management.
Trading System Support
Provide application/system support for internal departments including Application Support, SQM, System Storage & Management, System Engineering, Product Management and Technology Member Services.
Provide application and environment administration for complex trading systems
Troubleshoot and diagnose systems problems; install and configure fixes for applications running on Linux and Windows platforms
Submit and manage issues/defects identified during testing or in production using internal tracking applications
Troubleshoot trading issues by working with clients, vendors, and internal units including the QA, Operations and Market Control teams
Analyze cause of production problems and develop methods for improvement
Provide Level II support to IT Operations.
Create and execute test plans/scripts/cases based on technical and business requirements for trading applications and market operations support tools
Perform unit, acceptance, performance, capacity, regression and system failover testing on back-end components using manual and automated test procedures
Support scheduled weekend testing of Production level systems and applications
Test OS and layered product upgrades/patches
Schedule and track application changes and releases
Risk assessment prior to implementation
Document specific procedures for implementation, error checking and fallback
Manage software and configuration changes on Test and Production environments
Make several daily modifications to support customers business and technical specifications
Perform technical tests before changes are rolled out
Design implementation strategy
Deploy software and configuration changes in Production and Test environments
Customer service and vendor management
Manage open trading systems issues with customers and vendors
Emergency release handling.
Research and selection of products to fulfill project requirements and enhance current methodologies.
Experience Required/Results Expected:
Knowledge of basic network administration
Project management process experience
General understanding of capacity and performance management
Change management and configuration management experience
Technical testing and backend applications
