The Application System Analyst/Programmer will formulate/define system scope and objectives for assigned projects. This person will devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. This role will prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written and responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation. This person will have duties instructing, directing and checking the work of other systems analysts and programming personnel and responsible for quality assurance review.
Bachelors' degree required.
7 or more years of related experience required, preferably within IT development.
Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities required.
2 or more years of Microsoft Excel user interface workbook development experience required - including hands-on Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) or F# (F Sharp) development languages preferred.
Excellent understanding and experience working across the full SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) required.
Understanding of integration with enterprise systems preferred.
Must possess in-depth strong problem solving analytical skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills needed; ability to tailor approach based upon audience and message.
Ability to work in highly collaborative team environment while partnering with technical and non-technical resources on a daily basis to create deliverables required.
Ability to facilitate design discussions preferred.
Experience with Microsoft SharePoint preferred.
Experience with actuarial based tools preferred.
