Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Science seeks a motivated, entry-level, Applications/Web Developer to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Information Systems, the Developer is responsible for creating new applications and providing development support for the College’s student information system (SIS), customized SQL web-based applications and learning management system (LMS) as well as other campus-wide applications.

In this role, the developer will work in conjunction with various constituent groups and departments to develop and implement business related applications, customize existing applications, as well as debug, troubleshoot, and maintain existing systems. The developer will also help prepare the technical documentation for the business requirements. All coding will be done in an MS .net environment with a SQL RDBMS database. Additional responsibilities may include developing SharePoint 2010 sites and applications and assisting with IT related projects and objectives.

Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years professional experience required; academic or professional experience developing software applications preferred. Applicants may be asked to present a portfolio of software application work from school, internships, or another professional or academic institution. Qualified applicants will have knowledge of relational database concepts, client-server concepts and web services, software Design Patterns, HTML, JavaScript and CSS. Familiarity with SharePoint 2010, Blackboard or canvas is a plus. A strong analytic capability, ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment, and ability to foster positive working relationships with end users including faculty, staff, and students is a must.
