The QA team Lead roles and responsibilities include general people administration and management, leading the effort to identify, establish, and implement best practices and standardize tools and methods in the areas of Software Quality Assurance and Quality Control, setting the direction and strategy of the team, recruiting new team members, and participating in business development activities to identify and target new opportunities.

Specific duties include:

People Administration/Management:

• Responsible for general morale and well-being of team members and team

• Identification and recruitment of new team members

• Assure successful on-boarding of new team members

• Communicate business unit direction to team

• Assess performance and build team member value using the Tectura TPM process

• Coach and mentor team members

• Evangelize Tectura culture and values

Work with leadership and Team Members to develop goals and objectives and the strategies for achieving Standardization of Tools/Process:

• Continually evaluate and evolve current tools, methods and processes for software quality control and quality assurance

• Seek out new tools and processes as necessary to improve productivity and quality in this practice area

• Take a leadership role in the effort to identify, document, and implement best practices in these areas

• Interact with other teams in AES and in Tectura to implement best practices

• Ensure Tectura AES’s continued successful AS9100/ISO9001 certification

Work with leadership and Team Members to develop goals and objectives and the strategies for achieving Project Execution and Business Development:

• Build and foster long term customer relationships.

• Serve as the primary interface for specific customer engagements, ensuring that statements of work are being executed, deliverables are being produced, timelines are being met, and work is within budget.

• Work with team members and other Team Leads to seek out, foster and capture new business opportunities.

• Work with the finance group whenever there are business/contract issues.

• Work with team members and customers whenever there are issues around deliverables, timelines, teaming, expectations, etc.


• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and people

• Experience working on complex software projects

• In depth knowledge of a wide range of tools and methods used in software testing (white box, black box, automated, performance, etc), quality control and quality assurance

• Hands-on experience with managing a software Quality Management System, and demonstrated success during external audits to the AS9100/AS9006/AS9115 standards

• Proven ability to successfully juggle many competing and simultaneous demands

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Strong initiator and motivator
