Design + Construction (D+C) is committed to excellence in planning, designing and constructing facilities that support the Center’s mission. To accomplish this, D+C must successfully implement capital projects with close collaboration between physicians, scientists and staff by establishing a standard of quality in construction management by assembling teams of professionals.
The nature and complexity of healthcare projects require an official recognized and comprehensive collection of documents including as-built drawings, architectural/engineering plans, photographic images/videos, etc.
D+C is seeking an Archivist/CAD Designer to assess, collect, organize, preserve, maintain and provide access to information, documents and records. They also develop and maintain MSKCC D+C CAD/BIM standards and assist with sketches.
The Archivist/CAD Designer will maintain and manage library of current and historical files including, but not limited to: as-built drawings, architectural/engineering plans, photographic images/videos, etc.; NYC DOB, Life Safety and Fire Protection plans for all MSKCC Facilities. Work with A/E drawings, and associated documents; while developing and maintaining MSKCC D+C CAD/BIM standards and assisting with sketches for assigned limited small-sized projects and tasks.
Candidates considered for the Archivist/CAD Designer will have a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture/Engineering or related field with 2-3 years experience as a digital Archivist in cataloging architectural documents or related field; knowledge of New York City Department of Buildings’ and Board of Standards and Appeals’ filing processes and requirements; CAD/BIM Designer in Architecture/Engineering firm or related field. Must be highly organized and analytical, self-motivated; excellent time management, attentive to detail; able to work well with others; willingness to learn and to be challenged; independent and quick in adapting to situations; team player; need to be forward-thinking. Proficient in the following software: BIM, REVIT, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office including: Projects and Access, Adobe Creative Suite, etc. Hospital experience in facilities management and U.S. Green Building Council LEED Accredited Professional preferred.
