The Park University School for Social Work is seeking to fill a position for Assistant or Associate Professor of Social Work for our Masters in Social Work program. This is a full-time, tenure-track positions beginning August 1, 2014. Qualified applicants should have a teaching, research, and service record supporting appointment as an Associate Professor.

Candidates will have an earned Ph.D. in Social Work or related field, and an MSW from an accredited CSWE program. ABD will be considered if the final date for dissertation defense is no later than May, 2014. Candidates should have experience in teaching and applied scholarship in at least one of the four areas of practice concentration below.

The MSW program is currently preparing for the first CSWE site visit in fall, 2013 and is on the February, 2014 cycle for a decision on candidacy. The curriculum is designed to prepare graduates for advanced social work practice in one of four concentrations: 1) Behavioral Health; 2) Child Welfare; 3) Gerontological Social Work; and 4) Military Social Work.

Essential skills for this position include evidence of effective teaching with outcome-based practices, scholarship potential, and the ability to work collaboratively. Online teaching experience and experience in course design is desired. Evidence of applied professional experience is preferred.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate/graduate courses, advising students, participating actively in scholarship and research, and collaborating with colleagues in program development. Other responsibilities include being active in professional organizations within the discipline, providing service to the university and community, and other faculty-related duties as assigned.
