The Department of Accounting, Economics, and Finance within the Donald R. Tapia School of Business is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time, tenure track, faculty position to teach undergraduate and graduate Accounting courses online through our Center for Online Learning and on-ground at our main campus in Saint Leo, FL or at our Tampa Education Center.
This anticipated faculty appointment, pending budgetary approval, will at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank for the 2013-2014 academic year.
An exceptional candidate possessing a doctorate degree with experience may be considered at the Associate level.
The position requires engaging in curriculum development; supporting recruiting efforts; demonstrating professional development (e.g., scholarly research); undertaking community service in keeping with the University’s Benedictine values; teaching online and on-ground; and teaching undergraduate and graduate classes.

The faculty member will be required to:
•Teach 8 classes per year;
•Assess, assist, and guide online adjunct Accounting faculty under the direction of the department chair;
•Have the ability to develop courses for online course delivery;
•Be able to teach traditional and non-traditional age students;
•Demonstrate the ability to use discipline-related computer programs; and
•Have a commitment to active learning in the classroom.
This position may require teaching a Saturday classes.
An applicant must possess a Doctorate degree in Accounting from a regionally accredited institution with credentials to teach Accounting courses at the undergraduate and graduate level per accreditation guidelines (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Accounting).
Must be able to demonstrate excellence in the classroom (on-ground and online) and have the ability to use discipline-related computer programs.
ABD with expected completion by employment start date will also be considered.
Experience teaching traditional and non-traditional students; online teaching experience.
