Assistant/Associate Professor of Education and Director of Field Experiences

The Dickinson State University Department of Teacher Education is seeking a responsible and resourceful individual to teach a full load of 12 credits per semester (24 credits per academic year) in a tenure-track position. Responsibilities will include placement and supervision of pre-service teachers, coordination of fieldwork experiences, with the possibility of a subject area methods and additional courses. Course load each semester may involve travel to the Dickinson State University distance sites (e.g., Bismarck and Williston – approximately 100 miles from Dickinson), teaching by interactive video and/or online. The position also provides the successful candidate with the opportunity to provide quality academic advising service to students, participate in departmental and University committees, engage in research and other professional development activities, and work collaboratively with others within the University and in area K-12 schools.
The Dickinson State University teacher education program is nationally accredited by NCATE, and is also approved by the North Dakota Education Standards and Practices Board. The conceptual framework for the program is “Teachers as Reflective Decision-Makers.”
 Earned doctorate in Education or related discipline
 All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
 Organizational and public relation skills
 K-12 teaching experience
 College teaching experience
 Ability to integrate technology in educational settings, including distance delivery technologies
 Knowledge of reflective teaching practices
 NCATE accreditation experience
COMPENSATION: This is a nine-month, tenure-track faculty position. The salary is very competitive with an attractive benefit package, including TIAA-CREF retirement and Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance.
