The Mercer University School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is seeking an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor for its Doctoral Programs in Clinical Medical Psychology. The School of Medicine is committed to providing training utilizing the biopsychosocial model for physicians and healthcare professionals.
This faculty member will be responsible for teaching and clinical supervision of doctoral students, conducting and supervising research, and maintaining a record of research/scholarly productivity. This position reports to the Director of the Clinical Medical Psychology Program and has an anticipated starting date between August 1, 2014 and January 1, 2015. The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science has a positive, supportive, and collegial atmosphere, with faculty consisting of psychiatrists, clinical and research psychologists, clinical social workers, and marriage and family therapists. The department also collaborates with other departments in the Mercer University Health Sciences Center and School of Medicine such as Family Medicine, Community Medicine, and Public Health, as well as with the Department of Psychology in the College of Liberal Arts.
The successful candidate will be a graduate of an APA-accredited Ph.D. or Psy.D. program in psychology with experience in interdisciplinary healthcare and license-eligibility in the state of Georgia. Prior experience teaching and supervising graduate students is desirable. Preference will be given to individuals with clinical and research expertise in neuropsychology, health psychology, pediatric psychology, or geropsychology.
