The Communication Arts department at Marywood University seeks an Assistant/Associate Professor of Communications for a full time, tenure track position beginning August, 2013.
Qualified candidates must have demonstrated excellence as a Communication Arts generalist with a primary focus in both Advertising and Public Relations, and have prior experience in student recruitment, advisement, directing PRSSA activities and related professional organizations and in curriculum development. In addition, the candidate will possess leadership skills and function as Program Director of the Advertising/Public Relations Program. The candidate must possess application-directed skills which apply to the current trends of both Advertising and Public Relations including graphics and multi-media production. The candidate may be required to teach classes across the curriculum.
The candidate will teach, advise and mentor students in the Advertising/Public Relations Program and other department programs as needed. In the role of Advertising/Public Relations Program Director, the candidate may be assigned additional duties, including service on department and university committees. Demonstrated effective classroom teaching at the university level, experience and excellence with new media tools are required.
