Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS), a private institution with a 125-year tradition located in Albany, NY, is seeking applications for a faculty position at its satellite campus near Burlington, VT. A tenure-track assistant/associate professor position is available starting summer 2013 in the area of medicinal chemistry. Responsibilities include teaching in the Pharm.D. and graduate programs, establishing/maintaining an extramurally-funded research program, and participation in the service missions of the college.
Qualified applicants should have a Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry or a related discipline, postdoctoral experience, and a strong commitment to teaching excellence, graduate education, and continuing scholarship. Experience in and a willingness to teach in specific areas of pharmacology would be a plus. Preferred research orientation is the development of epigenetic drug candidates, complementing the current strengths of the department in structural biology of histone-related proteins, molecular/cell biology of cancer, computational drug design, and membrane transport. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are required.
