The position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Curriculum and Instruction, Qualitative Research Methodology, is a nine month, tenure track position to begin August 2013. Program responsibilities will include teaching and advising in our undergraduate, MAT, and the Ph.D. Curriculum and Instruction programs.
The successful candidate will have expertise in curriculum and instruction as well as qualitative research methodologies; chair and serve on dissertation committees; collaborate with public school representatives and university faculty; and serve as advocate for diverse research perspectives within the university and the community at large.
Responsibilities include the following: effective teaching in undergraduate and graduate classes; effective teaching of classes within the curriculum and instruction program; teaching qualitative research methodology classes; advising; curriculum development and program design; and active participation in professional development and scholarly activities.
An earned doctorate in curriculum and instruction from an accredited university/college (completed by August 2013) with experience and knowledge teaching qualitative research methodology are required. Must have evidence of successful teaching and advising and effective communication, interpersonal and technology skills. Experience working with teachers and the ability to conduct research and publish results of scholarly activities also required.
Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following: experience in advising and/or directing doctoral dissertations; evidence of professional service to the field; teaching and advising experience at the graduate level and through distance delivery; experience with collaborative programs; a strong record of scholarly productivity.
