The College of Education and Human Development at Lamar University seeks applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level for the graduate program in Educational Leadership. Lamar University is a member of the Texas State University System. The Educational Leadership Program includes the Master’s in Educational Administration, the Master’s in Educational Technology Leadership, Principal and Superintendent Certification Only programs, and the doctorate in Educational Leadership.
Educational Leadership Faculty in College of Education Position:
Duties and Responsibilities: Teach graduate level courses as needed in the program, serve as advisor and mentor to graduate students, and serve on dissertation committees related to your research interests. Faculty members are also expected to continue with their research and publishing, and service to the College, the University, and to the professional education community. Faculty members are expected to teach online and on-campus classes. The Educational Leadership program has a high quality online program serving graduate students throughout Texas, several other states, and some international graduate students as well. Most online courses are delivered as five week classes, a week off, and then another five week class with most graduate students taking 8 courses during the year.
Appointment: Tenure-track, nine month appointment with a possibility of summer employment; appointment begins fall, 2013. Department level appointment to be determined based on candidate expertise and background.

Qualifications: An earned doctorate in Educational Leadership, Administration, Curriculum and Instruction, or Educational Technology Leadership. Candidates should demonstrate teaching interests and scholarly expertise in one or more of the following areas: action research, effective school leadership, school improvement, curricular and instructional leadership, campus and district organization and management, professional learning communities, school law and public policy, instructional technology, human resources and school finance.
Effective teaching experience at the graduate level with students who are highly qualified, experienced teachers and administrators is strongly recommended.
