The Department of Physical Therapy on the Portland Campus of the University of New England http://www.une.edu/wchp/pt/ is currently inviting applications for a full-time faculty position in its expanding entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy degree program.

The position is a 12-month, tenure-track appointment, available for immediate hire. Application review will continue until the position is filled. Start date is negotiable. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications.

Teaching responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, cardiovascular and pulmonary clinical care, case report writing, and research courses. Additional teaching responsibilities in areas of clinical or academic expertise are negotiable.

All successful candidates will develop an active research / scholarship program and will participate in Department, College and/or University service. Strong applicants will demonstrate evidence of the skills and commitment to develop a successful, extramurally funded, research / scholarship program; teaching workload is distributed to support research activities.

The University of New England is an innovative health sciences university grounded in the liberal arts. UNE has a growing reputation for excellence in interprofessional education. Faculty members in the Department of Physical Therapy maintain active collaborations within the College and University, with clinicians, researchers, scholars, and service organizations in the local community, and with investigators from around the country. Research facilities and equipment include a new, 1500 ft 2 , Movement Analysis Lab on the Portland Campus that is managed and staffed by a full-time, Masters prepared, biomechanist. In addition, faculty in the Department of Exercise and Sport Performance on the Biddeford campus are actively engaged in cardiovascular and pulmonary research and they collaborate with faculty from other departments. Programs and activities are available to mentor junior faculty in research / scholarship.

Job Requirements Qualified candidates are physical therapists who are eligible for licensure in Maine. We are considering applications only from candidates with an earned advanced academic degree (i.e., Ph.D., Ed.D, or D.Sc.). Preference will be given to candidates who have cardiovascular/pulmonary clinical experience and / or strong research training, such as a post-doctoral fellowship.
