Title: Assistant Athletic Trainer (part-time)
Division: USTA Player Development Incorporated
Location: USTA Training Center Headquarters - Boca Raton, FL
Major Duties :
Work closely with the Head Athletic Trainer, Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, Heads of Men’s and Women’s Tennis, and the Strength and Conditioning / Athletic Training staff in developing and administering injury prevention and rehabilitation programs as well as educational materials for high performance players and coaches.
Assist in athlete care and the organization of the training room for the USTA Training Center-Headquarters.
Administer and coordinate along with Strength and Conditioning Coach and Athletic Trainer/Strength & Conditioning Specialist the USTA testing, training and tracking protocols for players who train at the USTA Training Centers.
Work closely with the Sport Science and Coaching Education Department in the development of educational materials for injury prevention and the High Performance Coaching Program (HPCP) as required.
Act as the Athletic Trainer for selected tournaments and events when required.
Bachelor Degree in Athletic Training or related area.
Certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC).
Extensive knowledge of growth and developmental issues involving players that are pre-puberty, in puberty and young adults.
Knowledge of elite athletes with specific understanding of tennis movements/injury patterns.
M.S in Athletic Training, Sport Science, Biomechanics or related area.
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
