We’re looking for someone fun and focused who can join our little-yet-lovely San Francisco team and help them be even more superbly successful through smart and savvy buying!
Work with our Buying Team to identify and purchase amazing styles
Prove your negotiation prowess by securing advantageous wholesale prices and payment terms, and resolving problems with incorrect or substandard merchandise
Manage the purchase order process by entering and placing POs
Ensure purchased products are delivered to our warehouse on time, under the correct terms, and at the correct prices
Track and secure samples from vendors to be used in marketing campaigns
Show your smarts by analyzing records of items purchased, costs, delivery, and product performance
Establish and build harmonious partnerships with vendors through open and effective communication
Collaborate with fellow category managers to develop purchasing recommendations that jive with business goals
Accurately track payments made to vendors in order to maintain both a balanced departmental budget and the company's strong reputation for full and timely payments
Coordinate with other teams to ensure a smooth and steady flow of product into the company and a high quality of merchandise delivered to the consumer
4-year college degree or equivalent experience
1-2 years of retail buying/purchasing experience
Talent for being detail-minded and organized, won’t let anything—no nothing!—slip through the cracks
Can self-manage like nobody’s business, staying on top of key tasks and asking for help when needed
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to learn new software and processes at the speed of light
Wonderful relationship management skills and experience
Strong project management skills and experience
Demonstrated initiative and positive can-do attitude
Flexibility in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, exciting work environment
Nice to Haves:
Proficiency with Excel & PowerPoint
