Under the direct supervision of the Head Coach assisting in the coordination of an intercollegiate athletic program, must have an understanding of technical knowledge of the sport of Women†s Swimming with the ability to help develop the student-athlete to their full potential.Coordinates with the Head Coach as to the administration of the program relative to scouting, recruiting, medical requirements, conditioning, awards, equipment control, game strategy, travel plans, budgets, relations and fund raising.Assists the Head Coach in advising student-athletes about admission requirements and procedures, academic programs and courses, required semester credits, registration, tutorial services, available financial aid, grades and current eligibility guidelines for participation in intercollegiate athletics. Evaluates students so they meet grade point average requirements for their respective college and monitors the athlete†s progress toward successfully obtaining her degree.Continues to update the technical knowledge of the sport and coaching techniques. To be able to continue to effectively motivate and evaluate the athletes† performances.May be assigned additional responsibilities in that program as required by the Director.Must perform above duties with the highest standard of professionalism and ethical behavior and in accordance with University, Departmental, Big Ten or other affiliated Conference and NCAA regulations, policies and procedures.
