Our dynamic financial team is currently in search of an Assistant Controller in the Miami, Florida area. The Controller will report to the CFO and will be responsible for all accounting and financial functions of our South Florida and Chicago contact centers.

Now here's the fun stuff:
Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include supervision of the monthly closing process, monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, billing, collection and accuracy of accounts receivable, maintenance of the purchase order system, supervision of accounts payable, payroll, assist with annual preparation of budgets and assist in preparation of sales forecasts. Additionally, responsibilities will include being part of a team that creates and implements policies and procedures for internal controls and proper segregation of duties.

Overview: Preparing financial statements, maintaining cash controls, managing the payroll and personnel administration, purchasing, maintaining accounts payable and managing office operations.

Main duties:
Assist with preparation of the budget.

Implement financial policies and procedures.

Establish and maintain cash and credit card controls.

Establish, maintain and reconcile the general ledger.

Establish and maintain supplier accounts and relationships.

Processes supplier invoices.

Maintain the purchase order system.

Ensure data is entered into the system.

Issue and distribute checks for all accounts due.

Ensure security for all corporate credit card purchases and verify charges.

Ensure transactions are properly recorded and entered into the computerized accounting system.

Prepare income statements.

Prepare balance sheets and monthly financial statements.

Prepare quarterly reports and report on variances.

Prepare cash flow projections.

Provide assistance to the senior authorities in preparing the annual budget and also the annual review or field exams as required.

Issuing, coding and authorizing purchase orders.

Compiling source documents.

Prepare and reconcile bank statements.

Educational Requirements

Assistant Controllers are highly responsible people, looking after the accounts, finance and administration tasks of the organization. The position therefore needs well-educated and qualified personnel. To seek job as an Assistant Controller, a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required, Masters in Accounting or related subject matter preferred . A CPA designation is preferred . Apart from this, thorough knowledge of the latest accounting software, financial software, management systems, payroll procedures, knowledge of verifying and interpreting financial data and records, excellent communication skills to coordinate with the employees and management personnel of other department, are also essential for the position of a controller.

Experience Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years experience with the same company as an Asst. Controller or Accounting Manager.

(Accounting Manager has to have experience with Accounts Receivable and Account Payable supervision, strong closing experience, and proficient in accounting technology, software, Excel (i.e. Pivot tables, etc.)

Special Knowledge/Skills:
? Familiar with Financial and Accounting Resource Guide.

? Knowledgeable in payroll laws and reporting.

? Ability to review and to interpret financial data.

? Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

? Experience in preparation and maintenance of accounting spreadsheets utilizing accounting and related software packages.
