Position Purpose:
The Center for Women and Gender (CWG) is a department of The Office of Pluralism and Leadership (OPAL) in the Dean of the College division. The purpose of this position is to develop, implement, sustain and evaluate student educational, leadership development initiatives, support programs and services focused on issues of gender and gender identities on behalf of the CWG. To locate and lead efforts on campus regarding community engagement and service learning relevant to the work of the CWG. To serve as a member of the CWG management team and work with the Director to further the mission of the CWG. To collaborate intentionally with a number of offices within the Dean of the College division and other departments within Dartmouth College, working towards student academic achievement ( Examples include, Office of Pluralism and Leadership (OPAL), Student Activities, the Academic Skill Center, Residential Education, Alumni Relations, Institutional Diversity and Equity etc.)

Skills & Knowledge:
Understanding of current feminist and gender theories and incorporating this work in programming and outreach efforts Ability to plan, coordinate, oversee, and assess projects and programs. Ability to represent the CWG in College and public venues Good judgment, discretion, independence and initiative. Demonstrated commitment to understanding the intersection of gender, race, economic status, sexual orientation and other significant aspects of individual or cultural identity. Ability to maintain positive relationships with diverse individuals and groups. Demonstrated financial management skills, ability to interpret and prepare departmental budget and other financial reports. Ability and willingness to work evening/weekend hours.

Minimum Experience:
Three years of relevant experience working in Women's Studies, Ethnic Studies, LGBTQ Studies or in feminist/social justice related field. Experience in a college environment with demonstrated success in student program initiation and development. Experience presenting publically on research in the field as well as professional work. Considerable knowledge of undergraduate student concerns and experience advising students individually and in groups. Experience working with alumni to inform and engage them in ongoing efforts

Minimum Education:
Master's degree in Women's and Gender Studies or other social justice related field required.
