Job Description:
Northwest Texas Healthcare System is a 385 bed acute
care and 90 bed behavioral health medical center serving
the city of Amarillo and the surrounding region. We

Through coordination with the Director of Environmental
Services, the Assistant Director of Environmental
Services is responsible for the ongoing, effective
operation of the Environmental Services (EVS) Department
and for the ongoing assessment and improvement of all
services provided by department. Responsibilities
encompass not only the internal functioning of these
services, but also the integration of these services
into the overall functioning of Northwest Texas
Healthcare System. Through collaboration with the
director, the assistant director will establish and
maintain effective working relationships with other
departments and provide a unified approach to providing
patient care. The assistant director will assist in the
direction and management of the performance of EVS staff
including, manager/s supervisors and front line staff.

Job Requirements:

  • BS/BA preferred, Associates degree is required
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of
management/supervisory experience.
  • EVS/Healthcare experience is preferred but other
industries will be considered
  • Will be skilled in directing and motivating employees
  • Provide effective oral and written communication
skills, having the ability to work well with others at
all levels.
  • Must have detailed organization and prioritizing
skills with the ability to train; teach, show and
follow-up on all assignments, when necessary.
  • Able to define problems, collect data, establish
facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret and follow technical instructions
and complete assignments on a timely basis; showing a
sense of urgency
  • Must be willing to work a variety of shifts and
rotating weekends
