Eastern Washington University and the College of Arts, Letters, & Education invite applications for a full-time Assistant Director in the Writers' Center
. Key responsibilities include:
--Developing and promoting new curricular and pedagogical programs for the Writers' Center
--Creating, executing, and/or delegating plans for outreach and workshops including community outreach, events, grant writing, and writing contests, as just a few examples
--Supervising Center staff and managing daily operations
--Expanding the capacity of the Center by assisting with its integration into and promoting the success of the Learning Commons
--Providing direct student support (educational support) to improve students writing abilities

> MA in English with emphasis in Composition and Rhetoric, MFA in Creative Writing, or MA in related field.
> Three or more years of writing center experience in a college or university setting, involving one or both of the following activities: (a) working directly with students and providing instructional support (i.e., developing students' writing abilities), and/or (b) leading or assisting with development of writers center curriculum
> Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency and/or diversity.
> Program development and/or management
> Evidence of research in writers' center theory, composition, or rhetoric
> Teaching experience in relevant areas at the college or university level
> Experience and/or training in technology and multimedia.
> Experience with program assessment.
