The Assistant Juvenile Probation Officer performs entry-level professional correction work supervising juveniles placed on probation by the courts. Employee assists the juvenile probation court officers in their various job duties from computer data input, interviewing, curfew checks, community service reminders, and record keeping.
Examples of Duties:
Assists the ISP officers in department functions; ensures all work complies with established policies and procedures.
Manages various paperwork; files and assembles packets as necessary; Inputs files into the computer system.
Performs curfew checks and issues community service reminders as necessary.
Ensures that UA’s are shipped out.
Performs a variety of clerical duties, including copying and faxing records and documents, answering phones, and assisting visitors.
Enters all the Offense reports that come in from various police departments, municipal courts, and the District Attorney’s office.
Creates recommendation sheets to send to the District Attorney’s office.
Calls police departments to get information needed as necessary.
Performs other related duties as required.
High School Diploma or GED required for this position.
Completion of some college level coursework preferred for this position.
Must be able to pass a State Criminal History background check.
Bilingual preferred, but not required.
