Reporting to the Location Manager, this position will assist with day to day plant operations. This assistance and support will cover all phases of the plant’s physical operations, administration and functions relating to staff that occur at the Idaho Falls Plant. In the Location Manager’s absence this position will be responsible for maintaining all plant functions including operations, administration and staff.

Responsibilities:
Position Responsibilities
Manage the freight and logistics of inbound product from suppliers via staff DOT driver and equipment or contract carriers

Oversee the receipt and shipment of all inbound/outbound products at the plant

Monitor and manage the safe and effective storage of all product at the plant and all outside storage locations

Manage the day to day processes related to the production of outbound product

Manage a staff of four production workers, two per shift

Oversee all equipment and capital needs for the facility

That would include rolling stock and DOT requirements

Efficient performance of all production or handling equipment

Safe operation of all plant equipment and rolling stock

Continually seek out ways to improve efficiency

Oversee and recommend Capital Expense Request in conjunction with the Facility Operations Team

Be responsible for Feed Quality and Safety practices at the facility. Be the business leader for traceability relative to receipt, storage and shipment

Responsible for managing and updating all plant quality assurance programs (HACCP plan, QA manual, etc.)

Be responsible for all aspects of plant and employee safety as outlined in the Wilbur Ellis Safety, Security, Regulatory and Environmental (SSRE) Manual

Approve all plant related expenses within prescribed limits

Required Skills, Experience and Competencies:

A Business degree or related discipline, and/or an appropriate combination of experience and education

A professional individual with a strong leadership skills

An individual with a high level of integrity, who will represent the Company and the Division well

A team player who excels at building relationships and encouraging staff growth and development

A creative individual with experience in all aspects of plant operations with an eye for efficient production method and an understanding of best practices

A strong communicator who will deal effectively with suppliers, customers, managers and co-workers
