The NW Assistant Manager (NWAM) is responsible for management of the order selection and distribution process. In this position you will manage daily administrative functions, reporting, day-to-day operations, and act as NW Manager (as back-up). High school diploma or G.E.D.
Strongly prefer secondary education.
Experience supervising and leading a team of 10 to 15 associates
Prefer three (3) years supervisory experience in a warehouse environment.
Extensive understanding of shipping procedures in a high volume distribution operation.
Solid understanding of produce varieties and handling.
Ability to operate a forklift & riding pallet jack.
Administer WMS (putty) application and assignment distribution in a manner to best achieve efficient picking and loading of trucks.
Manage routing and stop sequencing to best meet customer delivery windows while ensuring minimal fleet expense is incurred.
Responsible for training selectors in the task of selection procedures.
Responsible for completing all facets of the NWM in his/her absence. (see NWM job description)
Responsible for participating and ensuring clear accountability to the FreshPoint Safety Program throughout the Warehouse department and providing a safe, clean workplace for employees.
Responsible for training, managing and instructing the NWS and all NW Staff.
Responsible for ensuring replenishment of product and availability are maintained for efficient order selection.
Responsible for managing all facets of invoicing to ensure timely departure of trucks.
Perform other tasks as requested by Night Warehouse Manager
Responsible for working until relieved by another Manager.
Perform annual or as needed OJS as related to annual reviews or as performance /safety compliance requires.
Ensuring the condition of lift equipment and daily inspections.

Lift and move cases (selecting product and placing on a pallet) ranging in weight up to 75 lbs continuously to and from heights ranging from floor to knee, waist, shoulder, and overhead.
Use hands and fingers to peel and stick labels on cases.
Handle and feel objects and/or equipment controls; reach with hands and arms.
Must have the ability to talk and hear; hear warning horns on moving machinery and equipment.
Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include close and distance vision, depth
perception, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Must exhibit a high level of endurance, energy, and strength to successfully perform position.
While performing the duties of this job, an associate regularly works near moving mechanical apparatus and is regularly exposed to vibration and moderate to high noise levels. The work environment includes congested and high traffic areas, slippery floors, working alongside forklifts, single pallet jacks, electric walk behind jacks and hand carts. Walking and working is done on concrete flooring. Some duties are performed in the warehouse and will require work to be done in varying climates. Temperatures range from zero in the coolers to 95 degrees Fahrenheit or above outdoors. The shift end-time fluctuates with the employer’s daily needs. The associate occasionally works in high and precarious places.
