This is an Assistant Manager position for TEMA located in Erlanger, KY.
Travel is up to 80%.
This position will support SED in the leadership of structural welding high risk parts. Successful candidate must lead team with SED Operating Procedures allowing fo appropriate project planning control, team member coaching and development, and have a strong interface with related divisions and Supplier Management.
SED's primary function is to outsource parts for Production Engineering function for supplier and Toyota North American improvement. Project Management; Collaboration between Design, North American Manufacturing and Supplier; Suppler Engineering; Process Planning and Design; Production Preparation; and launch readiness following SED Operating Procedures are all required for this position.
Key elements of the position are but not limited to the following:

Develop business plans and strategies
This is a multi-faceted position that requires strong management, operational and functional skills. Successful candidate will have approximately 3-4 direct reports and this position requires and extensive amount of travel with a possibility of up to 20 hours per week of overtime.
Candidate must have an in-depth understanding of Toyota Engineering and Manufacturing and Production Engineering business practices, along with excellent coaching and mentoring skills to be able to assess team members strengths and weaknesses to maximize resource effectiveness. Successful candidate must also be able to manage complex projects and daily work of suppliers reporting to High Risk Commodity Leader and be able to report out project status internally and externally.
Other necessary skill sets; high degree of Welding knowledge, ability to meet project milestones while including quality, volume and lead-time. Candidate must be able to solve complex problems, be able to build strong working relationships throughout the organization, and have excellent communication skills to report out project status to upper management.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.
Ability to travel up to 80%
Experience in Toyota Quality, Production Engineering or Purchasing as related to a manufacturing environment.
Experience with new model launch in a leadership role
Project management experience related to new model preparation including developing, leading, prioritizing work, meeting milestones, gaining consensus, and reporting out of project and project skills.
Bachelor's Degree in the following disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Electrical Engineering
TBP complete and passed panel or similar problem solving certification.
Knowledge of and proficient in Stamping, heavy gauge welding and manufacturing processes that includes frame suspension, HSS, laser welding, arc and spot weld and control arms.
Experience coaching and mentoring team members in job development and technical skill improvement.
