THIS IS A PAID POSITION!

The Assistant Payroll Manager assists the Payroll Department in matters relating to bi-weekly payroll processing, time keeping management, tax administration, customer service and overseeing the day to day operations of the department.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

BA degree plus three years related experience. Position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be detail oriented and must be able to handle multiple projects. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Working knowledge of Excel and Word for Windows and ADP Enterprise V4 or 5 are required.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Handles the day to day operations of the department. Process bi-weekly payroll from ADP-EV5 system. Oversees the wok of the payroll book-keeper ensuring that the entire payroll is processed accurately and on time.
  • Direct staff and ensure that deadlines are met. Find solutions to complex payroll issues such as replacing lost checks, correcting overpayments, stop payments, garnishment reconciliation.
  • Stay abreast of payroll tax laws, and ensure payroll taxes are forwarded on time. Assist with 941 quarterly reconciliation.
  • Review time sheets for accuracy and completeness and ensure time sheets are received in payroll department the week following the pay period.
  • Demonstrate good customer service skills.
