The Department of Physics invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate Professor level to begin in August 2013, contingent upon final administrative approval. One position will be in the area of Materials Science, preferably energy-related materials research, and the other will be in Biomaterials. Applicants in experimental, theoretical, and computational research are encouraged to apply, and must have a doctorate in Physics or a closely related field. The successful candidates will become active members of the Materials Science, Biomedical Sciences and Global Change Sciences research clusters within the School of Natural Science and Mathematics in the College of Arts and Sciences, and will be expected to establish an independent nationally recognized research program, teach effectively at undergraduate and graduate levels, and direct undergraduate, M.S., and Ph.D. students in the laboratory. USF offers excellent opportunities to interact with existing research programs in the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, including the NCI-designated Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute. The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience):
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications (Education & Experience):
Extensive publication record in research related to Materials Science, preferably energy-related materials research, and/or in Biomaterials and be able to contribute to the Materials Science research cluster School of Natural Science and Mathematics.
