Salary/Wage
Starting salary range: $53,413.02 – $83,562.16 annually. An annual stipend of $1,306 shall be paid to any faculty member who has an earned Doctorate from an accredited institution.

Academic training and teaching experience will form the basis for salary computation as determined by placement on the regular salary schedule of the College. Primary Function
The Librarian/Assistant Professor will be primarily responsible for coordinating a library operation and providing course-related library instruction.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include scheduling and directing library staff, participating in reference service and library materials selection, creating and maintaining resources that support teaching and learning, and coordinating library displays and programs. In addition to the these responsibilities, other duties include maintaining regular office hours, curriculum and program development, development and assessment of student learning outcomes, full participation in department activities, and participation in college governance.

Minimum Qualifications
Must meet one of the sets of qualifications listed under a) through b):

a) A Master’s degree in library science or library and information science.

b) A combination of education and experience that is at least the equivalent of the qualifications in a) above. Candidates who do not possess the specific minimum qualifications as stated above, which includes degrees that have not been awarded at the time of submitting the application, must complete and attach the Equivalency Qualifications Form ( www.palomar.edu/hr/forms/equivalency.pdf ).

Only coursework completed at, and degrees awarded by, accredited institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education will be considered as satisfying the minimum qualifications. Candidates who have earned degrees from foreign institutions are required to submit both official translations and course-by-course evaluations of their transcripts that have been prepared by a certified U.S. credential review service that is a member of the National Association of Credentials Evaluation Services ( NACES ). • Knowledge of or interest in collection development.

• Knowledge of or interest in planning/remodeling of library facilities.

• Evidence of a strong commitment to remain current in library and information science and its instructional program.
