FACULTY POSITION IN STATISTICAL GENETICS/STATISTICAL GENOMICS
The Department of Biostatistics invites applications for a tenure-track position in Statistical Genetics/Statistical Genomics. The position is at the assistant professor level. Faculty will be expected and given the opportunity to develop their own independent line of research. In addition, substantial opportunities to collaborate and publish with other established investigators will be offered. This is an excellent opportunity to expand one’s career into one of the most rapidly progressing and in-demand areas of scientific research. Candidates must have a background in statistical genetics/genomics, a doctoral degree and a very strong background in the quantitative sciences (e.g., a Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics, or equivalent) and a demonstrated ability to apply these techniques to genetic research. Candidates with Whole Genome Prediction and Bioinformatics background will be given preference. Proven ability to conduct innovative research is required. A successful track record of grant-funding is highly desirable. A successful track record of publication and collaboration as part of a research team is essential. We are seeking bright, energetic, hard-working people who enjoy and excel at working as team players with inter-disciplinary colleagues. Graduate level teaching (1 to 2 courses per year) is required. A pre-employment background investigation is performed on candidates selected for employment.
