The Department of Work and Organizations in the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota invites applications for a faculty position in HR/OB. We are looking for an extraordinary colleague who will publish scholarly research, teach undergraduate, professional master's, and doctoral level courses, and advise doctoral students in: (1) human resource management including employee selection, training, development, and related areas and/or (2) leadership and/or related areas such as power and influence.
Duties/Responsibilities
The appointment will begin August 2013 at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor depending upon qualifications and experience, and consistent with collegiate and university policy. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in human resources, organizational behavior, management, industrial-organizational psychology, or a closely-related discipline by August 2013, a scholarly research record and teaching experience appropriate to career stage, and a desire to interact and collaborate with colleagues from other disciplines. Successful applicants will be expected to contribute to the service needs of a vibrant department, college, and university, including interacting with the professional business and human resources communities.

The multidisciplinary Department of Work and Organizations faculty include: Avner Ben-Ner, John Budd, Michelle Duffy, Theresa Glomb, Sophie Leroy, Lisa Leslie, Colleen Flaherty Manchester, Pri Shah, Jason Shaw, Aaron Sojourner, Andy Van de Ven, Connie Wanberg, and Mary Zellmer-Bruhn. The department is home to internationally-recognized doctoral and master's programs in human resources and industrial relations, widely considered to be top programs of their kind in the nation. The department creates cutting-edge research and offers courses pertaining to work, managing and leading people and organizations, the behavior of individuals and groups in organizations and work-related institutions, and public policies throughout all of the Carlson School's academic programs.
