The Interactive Multimedia program at The College of New Jersey invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, with a focus on interaction design, starting in the Fall 2013 semester.
Applicants must hold a masters degree or higher in interaction design, new media or a related field. Reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of the curriculum, applicants should demonstrate experience integrating fundamentally sound computer programming with media-rich interactive design. Prior college-level teaching experience is required, along with a record of relevant scholarship and professional or creative activity.
The successful candidate will teach introductory programming and web design courses, as well as more advanced courses focused on emerging areas of interaction design, such as mobile development and physical computing.

Interactive Multimedia is an interdisciplinary program within the College's School of the Arts and Communication, alongside the Departments of Music, Art and Art History, and Communication Studies. The IMM curriculum combines digital media, interactive computing and writing, and offers both hands-on instruction using industry-standard production tools as well as an in-depth exploration of the cultural impact of digital and interactive technology.
