We are currently looking for a one-year replacement to teach in the College of Health, Human Services, and Science. We prefer candidates with a PhD in Biology and an interest in teaching lower division level including Human Anatomy and Physiology. This position carries a full teaching load of 24 credits/year and is located in Clinton, IA. This position is an on-ground full-time position which requires being physically located in or near Clinton, IA

Position Summary:

This Biology Faculty position is a full-time employment opportunity for 1 year. This position reports to the Dean, College of Health, Human Services, and Science.

Essential Job Duties:

• Teaching loads of 24 credit hours per academic year of Freshman and Sophomore level courses.
• Office hours for student consultation and registration.
• Committee work.
• Professional Development participation.
• Book ordering each semester.
• Grading (including 4 week deficiencies) and attendance records.
• Syllabi development and electronic submission.
• Assessment of courses and programs as scheduled.

Additional Job Duties (include but are not limited to):

• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Degree in biology or science required. Doctorate preferred. Master's with teaching experience considered. Rank is dependent upon degree and teaching experience.

Mental Demands: While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to deal with stress associated with a fast-paced work environment and multiple priorities/tasks. The employee will be required to make judgment decisions and adapt to changing work situations, grasp and apply new ideas, communicate with various personalities at all levels and have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.

Work Environment: While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to work in an office environment, and the noise level is usually moderate to loud .
