High school diploma, Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) or equivalent certificate, or nine (9) college credits in early childhood education or related field and a minimum of one (1) year of appropriate experience working with infants, toddlers and/or preschool children. Must have First-Aid and CPR certification or obtain within six months of hire. Must meet all requirements of Chapters 402 and 435 F.S. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience; however, greater weight may be given for directly related work experience.
Associate of Arts degree from an accredited institution or equivalent in early childhood education or related field. Experience in a program accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

Assists with planning and implementing daily program. Plans and prepares the learning environments, sets up interest centers, and prepares materials and supplies. Assists the Lead Teacher in the operation of the classroom in compliance with all childcare licensing standards, the accreditation standards of the National Association of the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), Florida Sunrise and Sunshine State Standards, and National Head Start Performance Standards. Ensures the health, safety, welfare and accountability of the children through constant supervision.
Supervises children, student workers, OPS, volunteers, etc. when other teachers are not present in the classroom.
Contributes to the operation of the Center by participating as a team member, attending staff meetings,training programs, and conferences.
Performs other assigned duties deemed necessary for the successful operation of the Center.
Shares joint housekeeping responsibilities with other staff members. Assists in other rooms in the absence of Lead Teachers or Assistant Teachers.

a) Anticipated hours of operation for the Center will be 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday - Friday b) Total hours per week, 40. c) Work hours will be scheduled around the Center's operations and will vary based upon the needs of the Center. May require extend work hours. Occasional evening or weekend hours are possible depending upon the needs of the Center. This is a 10 month appointment from August 15th through June 15th at a full time 40 hour work week. Incumbent will be placed on an authorized leave of absence without pay from June 16th through August 14th of each year.
