FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Physics at the City College of New York invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. We are searching for a candidate with strong research expertise in theoretical condensed matter physics. The successful candidate should have demonstrated research expertise, and is expected to have or generate an active research program; senior candidates are expected to have a strong history of research funding from federal agencies. The successful candidate is expected to be an intellectual force who will help the department move forward. The candidate is expected to complement the ongoing research of faculty within the department (condensed matter, photonics and atomic physics) and actively participate in CUNY-wide interdisciplinary resource centers. The candidate will also be required to participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching and help in the growth of our graduate programs.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. and several years of postdoctoral experience.
