Assistant to the Executive Director
United Nations Association of the National Capital Area (UNA-NCA) - Washington, DC

Support Executive Director in preparation for meetings, special events, and fundraising;
Contribute to the design of new fundraising programs;
Strong event planning skills and experience needed.

UNA-NCA's Program Assistant Internship is open to all professionals, undergraduate, and graduate university students pursuing a course of study or practical experience in international and public policy, advocacy, communications, and grassroots organizing. UNA-NCA Program Assistants help implement a variety of programs designed to build an educated citizenry and inspire action in support of the United Nations.

Competitive candidates should possess excellent communication skills, including the ability to write, edit, and proof read own work and the work of others. The ability to multitask and problem solve in a fluctuating environment is essential. Innovation, creative thinking, and attention to detail are strongly desired. Program Assistants should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to professionally represent the organization with members and the general public. Basic computer knowledge is required, strong computer skills preferred.

Candidates should be able to commit to a minimum of approximately 32 hours (four days) per week for at least a full academic semester. Non-US citizens must possess a valid US Visa prior to applying to the internship program (Please note that B-1and B-2 class business/tourist visas are not eligible).
