Executes established protocols to manufacture product for inventory, direct sales, qualification testing and process development. Troubleshoots product issues. Troubleshoots product issues. Contributes to production planning, work scheduling, and inventory maintenance. Follows company policies and procedures as appropriate. Maintains complete and accurate records. Executes written SOPs and protocols with accuracy. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments. Applies technical writing skills to produce reports and documents. Understands and applies manufacturing process controls and quality requirements. Contributes to defining process control measures. Designs experimental plan to support project objectives. Executes bench experiments; makes detailed and general observations and analyzes data. Prepares, presents and discusses results of experiments within and between departments. Responsible for some aspect of production planning, work scheduling, and inventory maintenance. Maintains complete and accurate records. Project assignments are given with defined scope and goals. Responsible for timely and on-budget completion of project goals General direction is provided by other scientists, management or project leaders. Identifies process improvements and creates plans for their implementation. Follows Quality System requirements to write change orders, update protocols, and identify and test new equipment. Recognized as an expert across a wide range of techniques and their applications. Works on standard protocols and products and troubleshoots product issues. Works on complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires technical and scientific knowledge. Exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria. Trains others in areas of expertise. Troubleshoots problems and takes corrective action. Leads small projects or sub projects within a larger effort. Consistently demonstrates professionalism and acts as informal leader to product and project teams. Understands the concepts and requirements for transferring a product successfully into manufacturing, may participate on New Product Launch teams. Drafts protocols for new products and develops new processes as needed to bring a new manufacturing process into the lab. Creates and maintains training procedures for new products and conducts training for production and other teams (if required).
        Required: Typically requires Bachelor's degree in Science plus 6 or more years relevant experience or Master's degree plus 2 years relevant experience. Excellent communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, experience in a lab environment using standard molecular biology processes, and a good understanding of manufacturing process controls. Knows and able to apply a wide range of specialized experimental techniques. Experience working on project teams. Preferred: Presentation skills Technical writing experience
