The CFR Group supports new business development and investment banking engagements. Associates work on a variety of transactions that provide exposure to various investment banking services, including mergers and acquisitions, private placements of debt and equity, refinancings and leveraged buyouts. You will:
· Prepare, analyze and help explain historical and projected financial information;
· Coordinate and perform business due diligence and execute M&A transactions;
· Prepare confidential information memoranda, management presentations, marketing pitches and other presentations;
· Value companies and businesses;
· Assist in the marketing and planning of engagements; and
· Build relationships and maintain direct contact with clients, prospective clients and professional advisors.
The ideal candidate should have prior experience or a demonstrated interest in the consumer, food and retail industries, a strong work ethic and the ability to participate in multiple projects simultaneously. The ability to grasp key concepts quickly and work independently in a fast-paced environment is essential. The environment at Houlihan Lokey is both collegial and entrepreneurial. Candidates must have a strong knowledge of accounting and applied financial theory, keen analytical capabilities, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. At least six months of postgraduate investment banking experience is required; no class of 2012 graduates, please. A solid academic background and coursework in accounting and finance are preferred.
