To purpose of this associate’s role is to perform data analysis of client loan portfolios for the Performance Optimization Program, including producing market-based pricing benchmarks. In addition, the position entails supporting the Program’s execution tools, primarily the Pricing Guidelines and Management Reporting.
Data mining and validation of client loan portfolios. This includes implementing the business rules established for each client to map the client’s data to S&P’s standard format, performing calculations on the data, and identifying data anomalies.
Perform empirical analysis on the data to derive bank and market pricing grids. Identify inconsistencies in the grids as per the established audit rules. Apply the standard business rules for interpolating and extrapolating the grids where needed.
Run the standard monthly processes to produce client deliverables, including the Renewal Reports and Management Reports. Test and validate the output.
Assist with one-off data and analytical requests, on an as-needed basis.
Bachelor’s degree required; degree in finance and/or coursework in statistics is a plus.
Two to three years’ experience in data analytics.
Knowledge of financial markets is required; experience with commercial loans is a plus..
Strong data mining skills – capable of aiding in the design and execution of financial models and analytics in order to mine customer loan portfolio data for trends and technicals.
Proficiency in Access and Excel.
Strong analytical skills, including ability to mine data in order to draw meaningful conclusions
Good verbal and written communication – important for supporting team and interfacing with clients.
