The Associate Application Analyst position is an entry into the application area of Emerging Health. This associate will learn new skills while applying experience gained from education, projects, internships, or work experiences. The Associate Application Analyst works under the guidance of his/her manager and senior members of the team. This Analyst participates in training and self study of the applications and associated workflows. The Associate Application Analyst provides outstanding client service and contributes to the organization’s mission of utilizing information technology to improve patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Associate Application Analyst to work on ambulatory EMR (Centricity EMR formerly Logician) application:

The Associate Application Analyst utilizes his/her knowledge of the client’s clinical and business requirements, application capabilities, and his/her technical skills to implement and support Centricity EMR. The Associate Application Analyst is responsible for the implementation of new application functionalities, upgrades, and modifications to Centricity EMR. The Associate Application Analyst is also responsible for the application configuration, go-live support, and on-going client support. He/she works on multiple projects concurrently. The Associate Application Analyst provides outstanding client service and contributes to the organization’s mission of utilizing information technology to improve patient care.

Responsibilities may include:
Install new applications, new components, and upgrade existing applications. Configure application settings.
Provide go-live and rollout support. Support users on Centricity EMR, modules, and functionality.
Provide application-troubleshooting support for Centricity EMR. Resolve the issue, forward it to the correct group for remediation, or elevate it to the vendor if required.
Assist with determining how a new system, upgrade, or new component can best meet the needs of the users.
Analyze business/clinical needs and requirements.
Evaluate the operational workflow that is applied to the system.
Create system specifications from user requirements.
Create test plans and test new systems, version upgrades, and any system modification. Document all outcomes of testing.
Design database queries and create reports utilizing a report-writing tool.
Monitor application issues and evaluate issues as they arise.
Write and maintain accurate and current documentation regarding application(s) supported by the team. Participate in the maintenance of training materials and disseminate materials to users.
Provide timely, effective, and professional customer support on a 24x7 rotating basis. Work with the help desk and support personnel on escalated issues to identify problems and resolve them. Triage network, hardware, or workstation issues as required.
Analyze necessary application modifications and work with the appropriate Emerging Health associate or the vendor to coordinate the modification.
Act as a liaison to the vendor for Emerging Health or the client.
Contact vendor to report escalations and obtain assistance with solving issues.
Assist with the coordination of vendor activities including hardware or software installation.
Apply business knowledge to system processes and manipulation of data to ensure successful transactions through the system.
Make necessary enhancements to add or maintain functionality of the application. These changes may include creating and modifying screens, tables, dictionaries, and rules.
Participate in the design, development and maintenance of system interfaces. Validate and test system interfaces.
Participate in policy and procedure development as it relates to security, downtime, backup operations and disaster recovery activities.
Administer application security and access controls.
Provide or coordinate ongoing training for clients in the use of systems.
Provide server maintenance as required.
Apply patches and fixes to the Operating System, or write scripts to aid in implementations, integrations, and continued performance.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with emphasis on Information Systems or health care in Systems Analysis is preferred

Technical Skills:
Experience with Centricity EMR (Logician) application preferred
Knowledge of C-EMR Visual Form Editor (VFE) preferred
Knowledge of Oracle, Crystal Reports, SQL or other data base and reporting applications highly preferred
HL/7 Interface protocol a plus (registration, clinical data)
Medical terminology, medical records background, practice management experience or systems installation background a plus.
Expertise with healthcare business processes and associated clinical application software a plus
Working knowledge of any programming language a plus
Ability to analyze a problem and come up with a solution
Excellent communication and written skills
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
Experience developing and/or maintaining any of the EMR systems a big plus
Ability to change screens and system tables using any commercially available tools is a big plus
Prior training experience also preferred
