Janssen Global Services, L.L.C. (JGS), a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for an Associate Director – Global Market Research.
JGS is a legal corporate entity encompassing a unique group of departments/organizations/teams that provide leadership across business critical areas for Janssen, the pharmaceutical companies of Johnson & Johnson. The following groups make up JGS: Global Commercial Strategy Organization, Global Pharmaceutical Communication and Public Affairs; U.S. Pharmaceutical Procurement Group (USPPG); and Pharmaceuticals Group Business Development (PGBD).
This position is for an Associate Director, Oncology Market Research. This individual will be responsible for independently managing qualitative and quantitative primary market research projects for global new product development in partnership with global partners within Johnson and Johnson and with other strategic alliance partners. In addition to technical proficiency with a range of primary research methodologies and secondary data analysis, the candidate must be able to clearly articulate key business questions & determine the methodology best suited to meet those objectives. He/she must then translate "customer learning" into actionable recommendations based on key insights, and present those to key stakeholders. As a strategic partner, this position requires the candidate work collaboratively with his/her marketing team as well as other cross-company and cross-functional partners. Due to the nature of the work, the incumbent must be able to work independently, manage complexity and think analytically, prioritize work and allocate resources accordingly. The job requires an understanding of marketing and science.
A Bachelor's degree is required preferably in finance, marketing or life sciences or engineering. An advanced degree is a preferred. A minimum of 3 years of Primary Market Research experience is required. A minimum of 8 years business experience is required. Candidates must have sufficient business/market experience and industry knowledge to influence decisions at company/franchise level and with strategic alliance partner. Ability to influence and impact others through building and defending arguments, and reaching consensus of opinion is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills, and project management skills are a must. The candidate must be able to independently manage market research projects and budget. Hands on experience designing, implementing and presenting a range of primary and/or secondary market research methodologies is required. Strong analytic and communication skills (written and oral) are required to ensure delivery of actionable results and to influence partners. Experience in an analytical role, with secondary data sources and modeling is preferred. Strategic thinking, collaboration and teaming skills are required to be successful in this position.
