This position in the Legal Department requires an attorney with expertise in litigation and complex investigations. The Associate Director will provide legal counsel to Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation management including department heads and heads of significant operations/areas of the business. Varying additional legal responsibilities relating to the business functions including the review of promotional materials for products and contracts will also be required.
Applicants must be knowledgeable in litigation techniques and should have handled a variety of significant litigations and/or complex investigations. Substantive understanding of product liability litigation and substantial expertise handling corporate investigations and advising on corporate compliance programs also preferred. Experience in a corporate legal department and/or prosecutorial experience desirable. Broad knowledge of pharmaceuticals business and FDA regulations desired. Travel relating to matters required.

 Experience in handling complex litigations (product liability) and/or federal investigations.
 Experience in interviewing witnesses and preparing presentations.
 Government law/regulatory enforcement experience preferred.
 Experience in compliance with federal and state rules and regulations, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
 Knowledge and experience with e-discovery obligations relating to preservation and production of documents
 Providing timely legal advice to internal business stakeholders
 Other responsibilities as needed relating to product portfolio Minimum requirements  Requires strong academic credentials, including Juris Doctor, with five to ten years of experience in a business oriented law firm; corporate legal organization, government agency or the equivalent.
