The University of Connecticut is seeking applicants for an Associate Director of Admissions to assist with implementation of admissions office policies and procedures of the Office of Admission for the School of Law. The Law School serves approximately 650 students and over 6,000 graduates. Position responsibilities include: planning, implementing and evaluating recruiting strategies; prescreening and evaluating admissions applications; preparing admissions reports; supervising admissions staff; creating and/or editing of marketing material, including social media; representing the School at recruiting events and performing related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications: J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school or Master's degree in Higher Education Administration. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds, cultures and locations. Knowledge and understanding of issues related to recruiting such groups. Excellent counseling, interpersonal, written and oral communication skill. Three to five years of experience in a law school setting, legal practice, or managerial level work in higher education administration or similar experience. Must be able to evaluate and produce reliable results, problem-solve and trouble-shoot problems; willing and able to travel by air, rail, motor vehicle, or other forms of public transportation; hold a valid driver's license and have a registered and insured motor vehicle suitable and available for (reimbursed) use as part of employment; be willing and able to work early mornings, nights, and weekends as required by the duties of the position.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated familiarity with law school procedures and administration. Experience with creating, promoting and/or implementing marketing plans, including social media. Familiarity with the regulations, laws and policies related to higher education. Experience with and aptitude for various relevant types of software used in higher education and admissions. Familiarity with ACES2 software desired.
This is a full-time, permanent position.
