SUMMARY: The Associate Director of Employer External Relations in the Office of Alumni and Career Services is responsible for the initiation and cultivation of new recruitment partnerships to increase recruiting opportunities and outcomes for students. Frequent travel to meet in person with alumni and employers.
Employer Development and Outreach
In collaboration with the Director of Business Development, design and implement strategies to initiate and sustain recruiting relationships with employer organizations in accordance with Business Development and Stewardship Plan.
Build and maintain recruitment relationships through on-site visits, phone calls, mailings, and on-site visits.
Design and facilitate local, regional, and national employer roundtables, workshops and networking events.
Establish metrics and track engagement and outcome levels to determine progress of employer engagement.
Participate in various local, state, regional and national organizations to increase internship and employment opportunities for students and to monitor industry trends.
Represent the office in a variety of University, community, and other networking events, as well as collaborate on the organization of events with employer organizations.
On Campus Recruitment
Support on campus recruitment programs necessary to expand internship and employment opportunities for students ensuring a mutually beneficial experience for students and employers.
Data Collection and Management
Collaborate with the Director of Business Development to develop and maintain a systematic measurement system designed to track the effectiveness and outcomes of employer outreach efforts.
Utilize student career interest inventory and outcomes data to determine industry and functional areas for recruitment expansion.
Utilize the NACElink system and the Raiser's Edge to access and record student, alumni and employer data.
Record stakeholder interaction and progress in NACElink system.
Coordinate data collection and management efforts in alignment with Office of Alumni and Career Services and other University data management efforts to ensure data integrity consistent with tracking efforts throughout OACS and campus.
Ability to establish excellent rapport with employers and among students, university departments, and the general public.
Maintain the highest level of professionalism and exceptional customer service.
Assist with the representation of Richmond students locally, regionally, and nationally through participation in civic organizations and communities, as well as state and national organizations.
Ability to analyze and present data.
Exceptional verbal and written communication, presentation, innovation, and analytical skills.
Excellent strategic planning, leadership and organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
Comprehensive knowledge of career services and current best practices including job market trends, employer relations and recruitment methodologies, and the application of technology in the delivery of services.
Strong recruitment, employer relations, and management skills.
Ability to work independently and as a part of team, exhibiting strategic thinking, sound judgment, initiative, and flexibility.
Must be able to present driving record including at least 3 years of driving history upon request.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
Master's degree preferred with focus in business (MBA), human resources, career coaching, education or other relevant area. Combined experience/education will be considered as a possible substitute for minimum education.
Three to five years of demonstrating progressive responsibility and leadership in a college/university career services or parallel setting, such as on a corporate recruiting team.
Five years of experience of progressively responsible experience in the field of recruitment, human resources, higher education, career development, sales, and/or program management.
Monday - Friday; 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Flexibility needed to work weekends and evenings.
Flexibility needed to travel extensively.
Pay Grade 8
