Position Summary: The Associate Director reports to the Director of New Student & Carolina Parent Programs. Associate Director will be responsible for the development and implementation of all undergraduate orientation programs, including first-year, transfer, and parent family orientations. The Associate Director will also be responsible for coordinating the Carolina Summer Reading Program in conjunction with the university-wide summer reading committee. Additionally, the Associate Director will supervise 2 full-time professional staff members and 1 graduate student. In addition to planning, implementing, and assessing these programs, this individual is also provides leadership for the department's assessment efforts, diversity efforts, and financial planning. The Associate Director will be working in a team-oriented environment and should be willing to work collaboratively with various constituencies, including faculty, staff, students, and parents families. Finally, the Associate Director assumes the duties of the Director in the Director's absence.

Education Requirements: Earned Master's degree in Higher Education, College Student Personnel, or other related areas from an accredited institution

Qualification and Experience: Required Qualifications: Three years professional experience working directly with students in a college or university environment. Previous experience supervising professional, graduate student, and or undergraduate student staff. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to details and planning skills. Ability to work irregular hours. Preferred Qualifications: Experience planning, implementing and supervising first-year and or transfer programs including the coordination of large-scale events, such as Orientation. Experience in program evaluation and assessment Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with various constituencies, including diverse populations. Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment balancing the needs of a wide range of constituents. Experience with public speaking and or workshop presentations.
