This position is an entry level design engineer in the Software and Electronics Engineering group. This position contributes to the design, development, and test of electronic control system components and dedicated electronic test systems for application on Aerojet propulsion system products. Responsibilities include requirement analysis, design support, electronic schematic capture and component/system test.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
70% - Under supervision of senior engineering staff, perform engineering design tasks for processor-based controllers, electronic sensor interface hardware, compact electronic power supplies and/or associated custom test support equipment. Duties include electronic circuit schematic capture, electrical interface definition, electronic circuit performance analysis, prototype testing, and full participation in team-development environment.
25% - Prepare engineering peer review input, test plans, and engineering reports for test and analysis tasks.
5% - Participate in engineering process training and other professional development activities.
- A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of control system theory and its implementation in electronic components is desired.
- Six months to 1 year related experience preferred but not required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance (requires U.S. citizenship).
