PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION:
Responsible for initiating or managing projects for their regional managers or sales management as requested, may also have direct managerial responsibilities. The primary objectives are to provide analytical support to the assigned regions and executive sales management to understand the market conditions and key insights into conditions that help drive (or hinder) the sales of our products.

Associate Manager will take a leadership role under the direction of manager in the development and execution of all ad-hoc business analysis projects. Projects are focused on identification of key business drivers or trends that impact a sales region’s profit and loss. The Associate Manager will perform special projects under the discretion of the Manager or Department Director. Responsibility is focused on executing moderately to highly complex regional projects (varying sources of data) as identified by the Manager or customer requirements. Further, the Associate Manager will provide strategic insights into the development of unit and regional analyses for the regional managers. The Associate Manager will also convey results and recommendations of the analyses to the sales management group. The Associate Manager may have direct supervisory responsibilities for both major projects or another analyst.
The Associate Manager is expected to take a leadership role under the direction of the Manager to proactively provide timely and useful information to sales management in order to better facilitate management of their geography. The Associate Manager is expected to leverage his/her prior experiences to ensure that any analysis is comprehensive, relevant, coordinated, and utilizes the appropriate sources of information. The Associate Manager will train less experienced analysts on sales performance metrics that have proven to provide results.
Associate Manager is expected to take a leadership role under the direction of the Manager to lead analyses that lead to the identification of key trends that impact the regions. He/she will facilitate the development of tools that support the regional analyst’s role. Responsibility is focused on executing and leading moderately to highly complex quantitative projects and uncovering nuances through the analysis that provide insights not otherwise available through the data. The Associate Manager is expected to leverage data and market knowledge to ensure that all analyses are consistent with the standards of the unit (using analytical interpretation of environmental factors that affect sales performance and make recommendations to sales management in a timely and efficient manner) and manage both the expectations and outcome of any major analyses.
People Management/New Analyst Training/Self Development
Associate Research Manager will continually increase depth and breadth of knowledge concerning potential sources beyond the standard IMS prescriber level data and proactively seek out opportunities to increase the partnering with customers to ensure their analytical needs are fully met. The Associate Manager is also expected to build skills to better manage resources, innovate and utilize new technologies. Developing a proficiency in written and verbal communication skills is also required in order to be able to provide a consultative relationship with the regional managers and sales management. In the area of people management, the Associate Manager will assist the Manager in training and development of new analysts, may also be asked to directly manage analysts for specific projects and will complete Performance Excellence tasks for any direct reports including a yearly performance review and growth plan.
Associate Manager is responsible for communicating and building a relationship with the franchise sales groups on both a formal and informal basis. He/she should provide timely updates on the status of all ongoing projects and meet with his/her Manager and regional managers on a regular basis to understand strategic issues, review research plans, and negotiate priorities. All analyses need to be communicated to his/her Manager and the regional managers in a timely manner. In addition, every analysis needs to include a concise and insightful summary of key findings, conclusions, and recommendations. The analysts may also be asked to make formal presentations to the sales groups and senior management.
Adhere to all Financial policies, including purchase order and compliance processes. Must be up to date on all required certification and compliance programs. Ensure all direct reports are adhering to the policies and have appropriate certifications completed.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY / SCOPE:
The associate manager will be directly accountable for medium-sized projects and analyses for regional managers, sales directors and, as needed, the National Sales Director/VP Sales. He/she will direct other people (IT support, internal MSO analysts, vendors) to define business metrics that may have a direct impact on the bottom line.

BA, BS degree required. Master's degree in Business or analytical degree (Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Math, etc.) preferred. BA/BS required to ensure effective understanding and application of business concepts.
