Job Title: Associate Manager Social Media, West Elm
Area of Interest: Brand Marketing/Public Relations
Reports to: Manager, Social Media + Digital Content
Williams-Sonoma, Inc. is seeking an associate social media manager for the West Elm brand. This role is responsible for executing the brand’s social media strategies and contributing to an engaging presence on various social media platforms. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with a minimum of 4+ years in a media-related industry. The candidate should have experience with managing online communities and a skill set that includes experience with customer service, marketing and online publishing. This candidate is an excellent communicator with professional writing experience, an understanding of various web publishing tools and knowledge of a multitude of social media platforms and tools. Candidate must be a flexible and a creative self-starter who is able to work within an entrepreneurial environment and manage multiple projects at once.
Moderate and assist with day-to-day managing and building of engaging west elm presence in various online communities including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram + more
Coordinate all user-generated content and requests, and respond to community questions and feedback
Build strong, effective relationships with partners, bloggers, social media influencers and others Assist with planning and executing engaging content to coincide with product stories, marketing messages, seasonal initiatives + store news Measure and report growth and engagement of social media initiatives and be able to communicate what that means to people who don’t know Recognize and evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising on an on-going basis. Develop compelling content for West Elm blog, Front & Main that includes story generation, reporting, writing, photography Coordinate with PR, Brand Marketing + Store Events team on brand marketing projects including new store openings, international expansion + new brand projects Coordinate with Store Operations team to assist in delivery, implementation and organization of store-level social media initiatives Manage regular updates of Facebook store pages for 40+ locations
4+ years professional experience, media industry experience a plus
Excellent web/blog writing skills
Understanding of basic HTML and blog publishing, WordPress a plus
Experience with SEO applications, tools and web analytics
Strong self-starter who thinks on his/her feet to solve problems. Ability to recommend, and initiate work and projects with minimal direction.
Creative, strategic and analytical thinking. Experience working closely with cross-channel partners across various business functions.
Uncanny attention to detail, unrivaled time management skills. Exceptional initiative & follow-through skills.
Superior interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills; ability to thrive in a cross-functional, team-based environment is critical.
Results-focused approach. Ability to multi-task effectively and ensure that projects are completed with accuracy.
Experience with social media platforms including blogs, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, FourSquare, Instagram + more
Experience with retail, direct and online marketing tactics a plus.
Retail and/or customer service experience a plus.
Interest in home furnishings, design and art a plus.
