The McPherson R&D group completes the development activities for new products and significant post-approval changes for existing products. This includes, but not limited to, analytical method development and validation activities, method and specification gap assessments to ensure compliance with current standards, method transfers, process development, completion of monographs (product quality specifications & analytical method procedures), primary container screening and selection, material compatibility studies (product contact materials, including filters), lyophilization cycle development, formulation development analytical testing for all non-commercial batches, and pre-commercial stability studies.. In addition, the group provides technical support for all manufacturing that occurs at the McPherson plant. For Hospira products the group also manages the technical transfer; authors the batch records and change requests, and writes significant portions of regulatory submissions.
The successful candidate:
Travel to other Hospira sites as needed.
This position is a first shift position within the R&D group, however, occasional support for off-shift testing may be required.
