The Associated System Administration Intern will work closely with the Manager of Systems Programming and team to help build Backup and Recovery process and documentation. The company is in the process of overhauling the Backup and Recovery environment and there is a need to build the documentation necessary for data retention policies as well as the Backup and Recovery processes for the infrastructure.
This is a full-time paid opportunity for the Summer of 2013. The student must be able to work approximately 40 hours per week at our corporate headquarters located in downtown Buffalo.

How to support an IT infrastructure
The importance of data protection in a large enterprise
The ability to practice documentation principles
Job Duties may include the following:
Review system logs to verify system backups were completed successfully
Track failed jobs and coordinate restart for successful completion
Documentation of technical environment
Register new backups and coordinate implementation activities
Automate activities where appropriate
Required Skills and experience:
Current undergraduate student enrolled in a 4-year program in Computer Science, Information Technology or Software Engineering
Basic knowledge of backup and recovery principles needed.
Some knowledge of operating systems is a plus.
Strong oral and written communication skills
